| Goals and Objectives to Accomplish if Elected: | In accordance with the HHS HEO mission, my goals and objectives include working collaboratively with intra-agency and interagency support to ensure that HHS reflects the needs of our changing demographics across the country.As such, through the HHS HEO we can collaborate to ensure the effective Hispanic employee representation and increased access to quality and culturally competent healthcare opportunities for Latinos in the US. We can do so collaboratively by maintaining an ongoing dialogue with national and consumer-facing organizations to identify ways that we can best consumer needs as well as serving as a resource within HHS to ensure that service delivery and communications are delivered in a culturally-competent manner.To effectively implement our organizational mission we must develop a strategic plan with goals and measurable objectives that ensure meaningful engagement with Latinos and identify ways to support Latino employees removing barriers to recruitment and retention; developing and implementing professional development opportunities and fully gaining access to available resources to best achieve positive results all allow for growth and professional development.
I would like to explore mechanism to ensure we are effectively engaging employees across the country in a very meaningful manner as this is a national organization and our policies and procedures should be effectuated as such. As the Latino Affairs Liaison for the Department, I am confident I can successfully fulfill our vision and organizational mission by developing and implementing an effective strategic plan with short-term and long-term measurable results. |
